Peter Johnson, M.A.

Peter Johnson, M.A. is Strategic Foresight Consultant, Founder of The Ayadee Foundation, Member of the BMW Foundation’s Responsible Leaders Network, and Founder and CEO of Ayade Holding Corporation.

He has a strong background in leading workshops, horizon scanning, and providing in-depth analysis of future trends and emerging signals.

He specializes in guiding organizations through complex futures thinking processes, using his own proprietary SHIFT methodology—comprising Signal Mapping, Holistic Complexity, Interactive Futures Design, Foresight Dynamics, and Transformational Action. His work empowers clients to anticipate and prepare for change by applying cutting-edge tools like scenario planning and long-term forecasting.

As the Founder of the Ayadee Foundation since 2018, he established a think tank and technology incubator, leveraging public policy, emerging technologies, and futurist strategies. In 2018, Peter joined the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt and its Network of Responsible Leaders. They are a community of purpose that is working jointly towards a more peaceful, just, and sustainable future. The Network promotes responsible leadership and inspires leaders worldwide to work towards a peaceful, just, and sustainable future.

They aim to advance the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. They count on a core group of Network Drivers that drive network activities at the local and regional level. Together with the Regional Organizers, they co-create regional activities in alignment with the BMW Foundation’s strategy. Peter was responsible for the West Asia and North Africa region between 2022 and 2025.

Peter has been Founder and CEO of Ayadee Holding Corp (AHC) since 2018. This holding company invests in and develops innovative solutions to drive social impact using blockchain technology. Central to their work is the Ayadee Futurist Lab, also known as Blue Shift Labs by Ayadee, which shapes the future of our initiatives as well as providing forecasting services and leading futurist workshops for others.

They use TRAK.id, a blockchain-based solution ensuring transparency in global supply chains; Garment Chain, which leverages NFTs to prevent counterfeit garments and enable worker tipping; and Visible Darkness SARL.

The Ayadee TRAK Supply Chain Tool was selected as one of the top projects by the Stellar Foundation Community Fund and awarded 98,000 Stellar Lumens. Furthermore, their Garment Chain DAO received funding from the DEVxDAO to design and build the architecture and initial code to use NFTs and a DAO structure for governance and traceability of garment supply chains.

Since 2020, Peter has been an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at SMU — South Mediterranean University, where he is teaching Entrepreneurial Culture, a core class that uses both theoretical and practice-based experiential learning to develop an entrepreneurial spirit in students, as well as Entrepreneurship and Business Planning.

Peter is incorporating cutting-edge tools and models from AI to biomimicry to DAOs to futurism to the Navy Seal’s “After Action Review (AAR)” methodology to give his students the most value possible.

Previously, Peter worked for the U.S. Department of State between 2012 and 2017, almost 6 years. He was the Middle East Partnership Initiative Coordinator and Political Officer in Egypt. In 2014, he became Vice Consul in Munich, Germany, where he was deputy chief and used data mining tools to analyze visa records for research on trade and travel trends, especially between Germany and Iran, which at that time had an opening for European trade and investment.

In 2017, he was a Foreign Service Officer in the Office of the Special Presidential Envoy to the Global Coalition, where he raised over USD 2 billion as part of a team that hosted two conferences with senior delegations from 68 partner nations and four partner international organizations in attendance to discuss global strategies to counter the Islamic State, as well as to raise funds and plan humanitarian assistance and stabilization in Syria and Iraq.

He conceptualized, drafted, and published all source analytic products on global terrorism based on inputs from the diplomatic, military, and intelligence communities. These products are used by senior officials in the White House and the Offices of the Secretary of Defense, State, Homeland Security, Treasury, and Justice to make global counterterrorism policy decisions. He also provided policy guidance and inputs on strategy on ISIS-related issues, with a regional focus on South and Central Asia.

Peter earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Economics, International Relations, and Business Administration from SUNY Geneseo in 2002. He earned his Diploma in International Studies and European Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). It included a core of economics, finance, and international relations in Bologna, Italy, which was built upon by a second year of studies in Washington, DC.

In 2007, he earned his Master’s Degree of Arts in International Relations and Economics with a concentration in International Finance and Emerging Markets from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Peter began his career as a Summer Lead Representative and Summer Accounting at Sutherland between 1998 and 2003, where he later became a Senior Sales Consultant at Sutherland. Their core expertise is in Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Cloud engineering, and Advanced analytics.

Between 2006 and 2010, Peter worked as a Credit Analyst at Citi, Business Development Manager at J.E. Austin Associates, and as a Financial Analyst at S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Between 2010 and 2012, he worked for the African Development Bank Group in Tunisia as an Analyst on Portfolio, Strategy, and Financial Institution. Peter was also Nominated as the best undergraduate business professor in 2021.
