Dr. Michael Sidler
Michael Sidler, Ph.D. is Cofounder and Partner at Redalpine and Board Member of Araris Biotech, Apoha, and Maximon.
In 2006, Michael cofounded Redalpine which is a seed stage venture capital fund, investing in high-tech companies in the field of ICT (internet, media, mobile) and Life Sciences. They focus on AI middleware, the energy revolution, the future of automation, the future of mobility, health tech, new data solutions & infrastructure, new food, synthetic bio/tech bio, and vertical/applied AI.

As a Board Member at Araris Biotech, Michael is helping pioneer a novel linker technology for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs.) This linker platform enables the attachment of any payload to ‘off the shelf’ antibodies without the need for prior antibody engineering.
He also sits on the Board at Apoha, a Natural Computing company creating new technology inspired by the thermodynamics of our brain. He is a Board Member at ExpressionEdits, where they are getting the right genetic syntax, with precise use of genetic grammar in transgenic design.
He is also an Advisor and Board Member for Better Dairy, a novel Food Company; Aktiia, working on Blood Pressure Intelligence; ImmunOs Therapeutics, where they are developing the next generation of immunotherapies; and Memo Therapeutics, a late-stage biotech company translating unique human immune responses into superior medicines through the development of best-in-class antibodies to treat viral infections and cancer.
Between 2017 and 2023, Michael was Chair of the Chapter Seed and Venture Capital at The Swiss Private Equity & Corporation Finance Association (SECA). SECA is the representative body for Switzerland‘s private equity, venture capital, and corporate finance industries. SECA aims to promote private equity and corporate finance activities in Switzerland.
Michael earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Zurich in 1998. During his Ph.D., he soon realized that his interests were much broader. This led him to join The Boston Consulting Group after graduating for almost five years. During that time, in the dot-com bubble, he made his first steps as a business angel.
In 2003, he joined Prionics as head of the Food Safety Division and Business Development Manager. Prionics is one of the early Swiss role-model startups.
Following his passion, he eventually changed the sides of the table to focus entirely on venture capital, where he could focus on his interests, such as science, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and finance.
In 2006, Michael became the Executive Vice President at Nordic American CDFC until 2009, when he became a Partner at Intro International AS where they were focused on the commercialization of European innovation.
In the following years, he invested in and was a Board Member of several startups including InSphero AG, MedMira Inc., Innomot AG, BiognoSYS AG, Malcisbo Ltd., Genialis, Redbiotec AG, EraCal Therapeutics, Kenbi, TOLREMO therapeutics AG, Versantis AG, Mushlabs, and Lunaphore.
Michael was also a Board Member of the Swiss Startup Invest between 2016 and 2022. Startup INVEST is the leading Swiss financing platform connecting Startups, Investors, and Corporate industry leaders worldwide. In 2017, Startup INVEST joined digitalswitzerland in their efforts to make Switzerland a leading digital innovation hub.
Since 2021, Michael has also been on the Advisory Board at Maximon — The Longevity Company Builder.
