Max Rangeley, M.A.
Max Rangeley is the CEO of ReboundTAG, Editor and Manager of The Cobden Centre, Founder of The Concept Place and Paywhatyouwant.io, and RSA Fellow. He is Member and Hayek Fellow at Mont Pelerin Society and Member of the Advisory Board at Ludwik von Mises Institute-Europe.
As the CEO of ReboundTAG Ltd, Max produces microchip luggage tags showcased by Lufthansa at the 2014 IATA Annual General Meeting and featured on BBC World among other media outlets. ReboundTAG was selected as one of the 5 most innovative companies in travel worldwide at the Business Travel Show at the London Olympia, and then again at the ITM/GBTA Conference. It was shortlisted for Luxury Gift of the Year at Spring Fair (the largest retail event in Europe).
It is on the Amazon Launchpad program where Amazon showcases its most innovative products; it won the Bronze Medal at the Frontier Awards in Cannes. In 2013, Max was invited into Parliament to discuss economics, and in 2014 hired to run The Cobden Centre, one of Europe’s premier economics think tanks founded by Member of Parliament Steve Baker who sits on the Treasury Select Committee and is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Economics, Money and Banking. As the Editor at the Centre, Max is working on business cycle theory and regulatory reform.

Max organized the digital currencies and blockchain exhibition at the European Parliament in April 2016. It was the first of its kind in any parliament worldwide. Attendees included the World Bank, IMF, OECD, Bank for International Settlements, and Europol. It was the first time these institutions had come together for a blockchain/digital currencies event.
He also gave speeches at the Jackson Hole Summit in the US and the Future of Money Conference in Leipzig. Since 2018, Max has been the Artificial Intelligence Distributor at Charles F.Day & Associates LLC. Initially started as Sentient World Simulation, a Department of Defense project to use artificial intelligence to build a real-time simulation of global geopolitical developments, Max is using artificial intelligence to build simulations of scenarios for the corporate and government sectors.
In 2018, Max founded The Concept Place, a company for which the idea came from first founding ReboundTAG. Max had to find web developers, graphic designers, animation professionals, and others separately. The Concept Place can take care of all of this. From the idea for a startup, organization, or project The Place can take care of everything, as they have built a network of partners worldwide.
In 2018, Max joined the board of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, where he is working for free trade and monetary reform in Europe. It is based in Brussels and includes economists, businesspeople, and members of the European Parliament on its board. He also became an RSA Fellow in 2018, one of the original Enlightenment institutions in Britain.
In 2019, he also founded Paywhatyouwant.io, a complete digital marketplace on a pay-what-you-want basis for music, ebooks, photography, and more.
Since 2020, Max has been a Member and Hayek Fellow at the Mont Pelerin Society, one of the original classical liberal institutions. Members have included 8 Nobel Prize winners, heads of state, academics, and think tank pioneers. He is also a Member of the Initiative for Free Trade, founded by member of the European Parliament Daniel Hannan.
Max earned his Master’s Degree in Economics and Philosophy with Honors from the University of Aberdeen, with his thesis on Gary Becker’s theories of human capital. He earned his Master’s Degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris. As the team leader for their project, Max was managing the largest team, and they used his company paywhatyouwant.io as the basis for the research project.
Max earned his Master’s Degree of Arts in Economic History from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with his thesis on using machine learning to analyze bubbles and business cycles. Following this, he was given a scholarship to do a Ph.D. at the London School of Economics but decided instead to go straight into business.
Max is the Author of The Age of Debt Bubbles: An Analysis of Debt Crises, Asset Bubbles and Monetary Policy, a book that illustrates how central bank policies such as zero percent interest rates have brought about a $300 trillion global debt bubble. This book brings together senior policy-makers from the world of politics and central banking who describe the negative effects of central bank policies of the last generation.
Max is also a Member of the Steering Group of the Honest Money Initiative, whose goal is to remove the power of the Bank of England to create unlimited quantities of new money and rewrite the Bank of England Act.
