Lina Srivastava,
J.D. is
the Principal of Lina Srivastava Consulting, focused on employing
strategy, planning, engagement, and transmedia design to create and
demonstrate social impact. There, she works with projects, companies and
organizations aiming to positively transform communities where
political, social, and cultural conditions create imbalance or
inequality, or the potential opportunity for economic and cultural
growth.
Lina works to leverage cultural expression and cultural
identity as a foundational element of social
transformation.

An attorney by training, Lina practiced intellectual property law before
founding her company. A first-mover in transmedia for social change, she
co-created the Transmedia Activism Design Group, and has been involved
in successful cross-media campaigns for several documentaries, including
Oscar-winning Born into Brothels (through her work as Executive Director
of the related nonprofit organization Kids with Cameras) and the
Emmy-nominated
The Devil Came on Horseback, for which she advised on
engagement, distribution, and content strategy.
The former Executive Director of Kids with Cameras, and the past Interim
Executive Director of the Association of Video and Filmmakers, she is
currently the organizational strategist for VODO and for 3Generations
and a partner in the social change strategy team for the Resist Network.
Lina has provided strategic consulting and project design to a group of
organizations dedicated to social impact, ranging from UNESCO to BYkids.
She is a member of the Boards of Directors of MobileActive and Global
Grassroots.
Lina is a graduate of the New York University School of Law, received
her BS in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and also
studied
at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, New York University, the
Support Center for Nonprofit Management, the Hastings Center for
Bioethics, and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown
University.
