Darío Núñez-Ameni
Darío Núñez-Ameni is Partner at Atelier DNA.
Atelier DNA is an international collaborative design studio that
includes architects, artists, writers, information scientists, and a
biologist. Their practice, using a holistic design approach, combines
tectonics, program and new strategies in sustainable design, and
deployment to generate both conceptual and actual designs of
environments, industrial products, and public spaces. Atelier DNA has
offices in New York, Portland, Graz, and Milan.
Darío earned his
degree in architecture from The Cooper Union in 1993 where
from 1996 to 2002 he taught Freshman design and computational design
methods. He has worked in the studio of Raimund Abraham and later was,
from 1997 to 2008, a designer and partner at Acconci Studio, a public
art and architecture studio started by conceptual artist Vito Acconci.
Darío has lectured at The Cooper Union, MIT, Pratt
Institute, and
Columbia University and currently advises Ph.D. candidates on adaptive
design strategies at the Complex Systems & Artificial Intelligence
Research Center of the Università degli Studi di Milano
