Conor Russomanno, MFA

Conor Russomanno, MFA is Cofounder & Creative Director at OpenBCI; Part-Time Faculty at Parsons School of Design; and Founder, Researcher, Developer at Brain Interface Lab.
 
At its core, OpenBCI is an open-source hardware platform that records the electrical signals from the brain and body and makes this data accessible by numerous devices and software languages. Behind the many lines of code and circuit diagrams, however, is a growing community of scientists, engineers, designers, and makers. This community believes that the biggest challenges we face in understanding the human brain and body will not and should not be solved by a company, or an institution, but by an open forum of shared knowledge and concerted effort.
 
Conor was previously Front-End Engineer at Felix; Assistant Rugby Coach at Columbia University; Teaching Fellow (Code) at The New School – MFA Design & Technology, Parsons School of Design; Art Director, 3D Modeler, Animator at Columbia University, CyberGRID Networks Lab; 3D Computer Graphics Teacher’s Assistant at Columbia University, Botwinick Lab; and Summer Position at U.S. Department of Energy.
 
Conor earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, 3D Modeling & Animation at Columbia University – Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science in 2007. He earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Design + Technology at Parsons School of Design in 2013.
