He is an Advisory Board Member at Boryung. This Board serves as the premier decision-making body of the Humans In Space Challenge. Boryung is a healthcare investment company founded in 1957 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Following the company’s mission to become an indispensable contributor to human health, they have expanded their business portfolio to the space healthcare industry.

Since 2010, Junaid has been working as Clinical Staff Pharmacist at the Medical Center Health System. He is trying to enhance clinical services for a 402-bed regional medical center. Besides his work as a Pharmacist, he also collects feedback from staff to implement new policies to increase efficiency, revenue, and employee morale.

Junaid earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) in Pharmacy in 1999 from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He began his career as Staff Pharmacist at Walgreens in 1999 and later cofounded Serenity Dental Care before joining the Medical Center Health System.

As a pharmacist, he learned about the healthcare system, health, and longevity. In 2009, in pursuit of his childhood dream, he took a detour and became a Floor Trader at the New York Board of Trade in the sugar pit. He gained an extensive understanding of public market analysis and risk management in a hyper-competitive and fast-paced floor exchange environment.

Shortly afterward, the trading pit went electronic, and he turned his attention to angel investing. As an angel, he learned about startups and venture capital and invested in several companies in different industries, including space and longevity.

One of his first investments was in CNS Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company specializing in the development of novel treatments for brain tumors.

In 2019, Junaid, together with his friend Franz, realized that they could build a better tomorrow with their backgrounds and investing experience by founding SP8CEVC, the first fund on Earth focused on Space Technology and Human Longevity. He created this innovative venture capital fund to kickstart a positive feedback loop between human healthspans and the space economy.
