Dr. Jennifer M. Gidley
Jennifer M. Gidley, Ph.D.
is an Australian psychologist, innovative educator, and futurist.
Her books include
Postformal Education: A Philosophy for Complex Futures,
The Future: A Very Short Introduction,
The University in Transformation: Global Perspectives on the Futures of the University,
and
Youth Futures: Comparative Research and Transformative Visions,
Jennifer is Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at
UTS Sydney; Fellow of the Marcelino Botin Foundation;
Visiting Fellow, Centre for International Studies and Research;
and has held academic positions within three other
Australian universities. Her Ph.D. on the
evolution of consciousness was awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal for
Academic Excellence.
She works globally with speaking and research
collaborations including Australia, Europe, the USA, Middle East, and
Asia. As former President (2009–2017) of the
World Futures Studies
Federation, a UNESCO and UN partner founded in Paris in 1973, she led
the global peak body for futurists from 60 countries.
Jennifer serves on
several academic editorial boards, has published dozens of academic
papers, and published several books.
She earned her B.A. (Honors) in Psychology at the University of Melbourne. She also earned a Dip Ed at Monash Teachers College, Grad. Cert. TESOL
at Bond University, MA (Research) at Southern Cross University,
Post-Grad. Dip. Psychology at Charles Sturt University,
and a Ph.D. at Southern Cross University.
