Avijit
Roy is D.Phil. Candidate in
Ageing and Metabolism at Clore Laboratory, University of Buckingham,
United Kingdom.
This internationally recognized research group has interests in
molecular genetics, biochemistry, pharmacology, nutrition, and the
physiology of metabolic diseases, particularly diabetes and obesity.
The Clore Laboratory is led by Professors Mike Cawthorne and Jon Arch,
researchers with a track record in drug discovery, including
β3-adrenoceptor agonists and the thiazolidinedione
insulin sensitizer rosiglitazone.
Staff at the Clore Laboratory conduct basic research into fundamental
mechanisms in the aeliology of diabetes and obesity and undertake
pre-clinical contract research with both major pharma and biotech
organizations.
